Back to the 60's.

The roots of Good Company stretch back to 1960's Florida, where co-founder Jim's parents Earl and Shirley Murphy, opened the original Mrs. Murphy’s Donuts in Jupiter. They were quite the pair. "My mother was a great baker and Earl was the salesman,” Jim reminisces. “They went around to their new neighbors at the time and figured out there was a need for a good coffee and donut shop.” This simple start bloomed into a family tradition that would span generations up the East Coast.

Fast forward a few decades to small town Jaffrey, NH where Kate, Jim, Charlie and the family continued the tradition... Jim and Kate perfected doughnut-making while Charlie set records for doughnut-eating.  Then and there, an idea for a new concept was born.

A brand new start.

... from Jaffrey with a crazy idea to work together as a family making dough, we found ourselves in Arlington, VA where we decided to get connected to our new neighbors and make our dream a reality.

Our mission from the start was simple: to create a welcoming, all-day café that feels like the heart of the neighborhood. A place where top-quality doughnuts, coffee, and food are crafted with care—and where families, friends, and neighbors come together to laugh, connect, and create lasting memories.
